Introducing Book Seven

Some poets use prose to narrate, describe, argue, or define. To the novice, there are equally numerous reasons for writing poetry. But poetry, unlike prose, often has an underlying and overarching purpose that goes beyond the literal. Poetry is evocative. It typically provokes in the reader an intense emotion: joy, sorrow, anger, catharsis, love, etc. Poetry can surprise the reader with an unexpected twist creating an unforgettable experience giving revelation, insight, and further understanding of elemental truth and beauty. Like the poet Kenvil Atkins Lewis's poem “ Natural Mystic” the relevant message in his composition is all the beauty, truth wisdom of a real world and that is all one needs to know.
