KENVIL ATKINS / TRUE POEM

Some are left behind only to be forgotten, some are taken and still are forgotten, no matter what the choices are in

your quest you are searching for a fool\'s paradise, yes fools gold.

FOOLS GOLD By Kenvil Atkins Wishing upon a star always wanting to travel far, to find a love that was not there, I cry, and I run looking for you to whom I belong. Was there joy at my birth a gift, God gift from above how I should know, why do I care, too young to belong, now too old to be told. The age of innocent travels far in search of a fool’s paradise, the life you live in the past that is told, knowing full well that all that glitters is not gold. At the age of four, she left me at the door, I search in vain for you my dear, you left you said to return someday when life will be your own. Sorrow fills my heart, I weep and moan but found no comfort in you, the miles between us you knew could never have made you blue. Toil and sweat my whole life through could have been avoided nothing new, unwanted unclaimed left out in the dew. Love makes sacrifices, hate makes sorrow, where I stand there is no tomorrow, my life before me as in visions to behold the mystery of birth. God blessed the bed that I lay on today, the miracle of life a gift so rare, oh Lord my god let me be there for their joy of youth so fair. Wishing upon a star I have traveled far to find the love that was never there, soon my darkest hour will come. And if I die before I awake, I pray my Lord, my soul to take, forgive my arrogance my birth and my life, for without a teacher who will tell I was searching for a fool’s gold. UNFORGETFULNESS POEM Who is to say that I was not here when my spirit cross over I Kenvil Atkins Lewis do declare only a fool blowing out hot air For I have been here and there listen to you my mark is everywhere In my travel that which I marvel yes above all life is just for living And the giving is like weaving a crown of solid forgetfulness What I have learned is just what I earn and there’s no bridge to burn Who is to say Kenvil Atkins the poet left no heritage at his age Fools that want knowledge seeking a reward for false wages Now in the twilight of my age, I want for nothing except to be save Young men cherish your youth and make much while the heavens shine You women it is best to marry don’t tarry you are a cup of fine wine And In the end, all is vanity for clean you come and clean you will go Who is to say poverty is a cup of tea rich or poor one wants more But the grand exit patiently open the door and there on the floor All that was you now know the score in for a penny in for a pound I hear the melody of a chorus coming to carry me home on high Yes it is time for my grand exit brethren please don’t ask me why Some day in the sweet bye and bye we will all join the grand exit Tags: Happy, Sad, Love, Faith, Inspirational,
